Childrens Home

We support two children's homes that care for orphaned, abandoned and destitute children.

Currently there are sixty one children in these homes located in Kathmandu and in the far western area of Nepal in Mahendranagar.

The delivery of services to the remote areas of Nepal is particularly important since these areas are often without easy access or resources.The homes goals are to:

• provide care, support, food and housing to the children in a secure and nurturing home environment.
• to ensure that the children receive a good education.
• to provide the children with adequate medical care and training in health and sanitation.
• to provide the children with vocational training so they become productive and self-sustaining members of the society as adults.

Land has been acquired in the Mahendranagar area and the Children's Home has a building to house 36 boys in its care. Plans are in place to operate a school for the local area, to offer scholarships to children in surrounding areas to attend school, to provide adult literacy classes to local village women and to set up several small medical dispensaries.

The Home also hopes to develop income generating farming operations to both feed the children and also to generate income.

for many of them who were subject to malnutrition
before coming to the Children's Home.
