For those who have been
following Nima's story, he had surgery to stabilze his spine and has fully
recovered. He has returned to his home in Eastern Tibet and is in good
health and settling back in his homeland.
Harry Boling, ATNI volunteer who travelled with Nima, emailed back to
Nima's school "Etched in my memory forever will be the sight of Nima
standing beside the bus window in a pouring rain.... both of us with tears
streaming down our faces. Please tell Nima I will always remember him
and thank him for the bracelet he took from his own wrist and gave to
me. Tell him Harry said to "set lofty goals and work with his goals
in mind"
One of Nima's goals is to finish his education, become a doctor and help
his people, a lofty goal indeed. Our many thanks to all of you who helped make Nima's story a happy one.

Nima Dondrup, December of 1999, after his surgery.

Tsering Dolma, Dorje Dolma, & Nima Dongzhou
all had severe scoliosis that is
life threatening. Tsering is from India, Dorse from Nepal, Nima from Tibet.
All
three have successfully completed their surgeries. Nima has returned to
Tibet,
Dorje was adopted by an American family and Tsering still remains in the
hospital recovering from her last surgery.

Tsering Dolma, having recently arrived from India,
full of questions about what
she's about to go through, finds comfort in Dorje Dolma.

Chiropractor Richard Nuzzi shows Nima a model
of the spine.
Nima has undergone surgery to correct his spinal deformity.
