On the 5 December we held our annual Christmas Party for the orphaned and vulnerable children of Ufafa; we calculated by the number of lunches served that about 800 people attended!
The weather was glorious. Local DJ, Boy Boy, set the rhythm in the marquee with hundreds of little bodies jiving to the beat of African music. Local farmers’ children assisted with face painting. The jumping castle and trampoline were closely monitored by the Michaelhouse Christian Youth group who spent the whole week with us. The MHS boys were periodically forced to deflate the jumping castle and turn the trampoline sideways to prevent the masses of excited children from injuring themselves! Father Christmas arrived on a big red motorbike. Once again crowd control was required as hundreds of young children swarmed up to the road to run beside Father Christmas, as he made his entrance into the Woza Moya Community Centre.
